March 15, 2018:
The Association of Professional Sales (APS) is pleased to announce that its new division is up and running in Asia.
The Asia Pacific region is one of the most diverse and dynamic business regions in the world, and in recent years it has been the growth engine of the global economy.
With this backdrop, the APS recognised that a team of senior sales leaders, dedicated to advancing and promoting the sales profession across the region, would empower its members to establish the highest standards of sales professionalism and ethics.
Local markets in Asia are experiencing robust growth, but they are also facing a shortage of suitable sales talent. The APS team in Asia will offer important advice on recognising and recruiting the best people and developing core sales skills. We will also encourage sales teams to take APS certification and sign up to our code of conduct.
The first meeting of APS Asia was held in Singapore on March 1. It included an opening address from Venkat Subramanyan, Board Member and Director, Sales Effectiveness and Execution Excellence, at Tripura Multinational.
Others speaking at the inaugural event were: Martin Mackay, President and General Manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, CA Technologies, Neelam Dhawan, Supervisory Board Member, Philips & Former VP, Global Industries and Philip Squire, APS Trustee and CEO, Consalia.
Andrew Hough, CEO of the Association of Professional Sales, was pleased to welcome APS members in Asia.
He said: “The APS is proud to have opened its Asian hub in Singapore and to be supported by many organisations.
“Our Association has its global centre of excellence in the UK where organisations and individuals can engage with us to promote high standards and professionalism across the sales industry, but it is equally important that we serve our corporate members on a global basis.
“Many of the corporate organisations that joined in the early days of the APS, such as Wipro, Vodafone and RS Components were always very generous with their time and investment in the faith that we would be able to support their operations in other countries. We understand the importance of local support to serve APS members around the world.
“To meet this expectation, we also plan to branch out from Singapore into Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. Conversations with potential local leaders are already under way.”
The Association of Professional Sales is the leading community for sales people. We are a not-for-profit organisation, reinvesting in our profession to build standards, trust and education.
